Replacing existing windows with energy-efficient windows will help to reduce solar heat gain. To qualify for a rebate of $0.76 per square foot*, windows must be installed within conditioned space and be labeled by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) to have a minimum Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) less than or equal to .35, and a U-factor less than or equal to .60. Windows installed within non-conditioned space, such as a garage or sun room, do not qualify for a rebate.

In addition, the existing structure must have electric whole-house air conditioning or heating. The rebate is based only on newly installed windows and sliding glass doors meeting the requirements above. After your window replacements are installed, you can proceed with acquiring your rebate.

Acquiring your rebate

Please have your 12-digit account number and the following information available in electronic format (saved to your computer) before you start completing the Window Replacement rebate application. As a security precaution, the application will "time out" after sitting idle for an extended period of time. To avoid any inconvenience, you will want to have your electronic documents ready to upload.

  • A NFRC report or a copy of the NFRC sticker from each window replaced
  • Detailed contractor proposal (if installed by a contractor)
  • Paid receipt/invoice (proof of purchase)

When you're ready, complete and submit the Window Replacement rebate application within 90 days after installation is complete. Once you submit the application, you will receive an enrollment/confirmation number that you can use to access your application. Be sure to write down and save the enrollment/confirmation number. If you have questions, call 813-275-3909 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To access an existing application, simply enter the enrollment/confirmation number you received when you initially submitted your application. This will allow you to make changes and upload any required files.

*Rebate applies to square footage of windows replaced.
