Tampa Electric was recently recognized as a Trusted Business Partner by commercial customers in a national study. It was among 24 utilities honored for developing trust from business customers.
Overall, Trusted Business Partners were credited with strong support of the community during the pandemic. The honor is given each year to utilities with exceptional performance in customer focus, business community support, communications effectiveness, reliable quality, environmental dedication and company reputation – the six factors that make up the Brand Trust Index.
The 2021 Cogent Syndicated Utility Trusted Brand & Consumer Engagement™: Business study provides a comprehensive view into utilities’ relationships with their business customers. The study was conducted by Escalent, a top human behavior and analytics firm.

Tampa Electric worked extensively throughout the coronavirus pandemic to offer support to residential and commercial customers and, along with affiliate Peoples Gas, donated $2 million to community partners to help those in need.
About 16,000 business utility customers from 79 of the largest electric, natural gas and combination utilities across the country responded to the web-based survey. Tampa Electric was also named a Trusted Business Partner in 2019.
