Our commitment to electric vehicles (EVs)
Nearly 125 years ago, Tampa Electric was serving the community’s electric transportation needs by managing the local trolley system. In a sense, we’ve come full circle: We now provide the power to serve the nearly 33,000 EVs forecasted to be in our service area by the end of 2024. That number is expected to exceed 129,000 by 2030 as Florida ranks second in the nation for new EV sales. With a cleaner, smarter energy grid, and development of new programs and services, we’re ready to power the future of transportation.
