Today, Sept. 29, is World Heart Day! Tampa Electric team members helped kick off the celebration with a Heart Walk Rally Day to support the American Heart Association's Heart Walk, chaired by our President & CEO Archie Collins.
This special event on Wednesday was not only a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about heart health but also a testament to our collective commitment to supporting a cause close to our hearts.
During Heart Walk Rally Day, team members had a chance to learn Hands-Only CPR. In just a few minutes, our team members walked away with the knowledge and confidence to potentially save a life.

The event featured Chair Yoga and Meditation 101 classes. Team members learned how to de-stress and relax their minds, a valuable skill for maintaining a healthy heart. Because if you didn’t know - stress is a silent but formidable enemy of heart health.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of our Heart Walk Rally Day was the great fundraising success. We raised a total of $15,065 toward the Heart Walk. This achievement symbolizes our dedication to making a difference in the fight against heart disease.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to our Heart Walk Rally Day!
Remember, taking care of our hearts isn't just about one day of the year; it's a lifelong commitment. Let the spirit of this week inspire us to continue prioritizing heart health by making smart lifestyle choices, staying active and supporting important causes like the Heart Walk.
