Tampa Electric’s Inclusion, Diversity and Equity team, along with several departments, recently visited Tampa Bay Technical High School to discuss career opportunities at TECO.
Tampa Electric’s Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (ID&E) team is on a mission to connect with the Tampa Bay community.
“One of our pillars under the ID&E framework is to attract and retain talent,” said Nadia Salcedo, HR Business Partner for Tampa Electric. “The goal here is to focus on equity while being a support group for Talent Acquisition.”
The desire to attract the best talent is precisely why the ID&E team recently participated in a career fair for juniors and seniors at Tampa Bay Technical (TBT) High School.
“Creating a presence in the high schools is important,” said Nadia. “It's also important that we inspire students to look into the various careers we have here at TECO.”
With a wide variety of departments present at TBT's career fair, team members had an opportunity to meet face-to-face with students and inform the next generation about careers they likely never knew existed at TECO.
“We are proud to be out in the community, making connections and attracting new talent,” said Nadia.
